In brief
Open your MoMo app. Somewhere between sending money and buying data, there is now a way to grow it. On 22 July 2026, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, IC Asset Managers (Ghana) Ltd and MobileMoney Fintech Ltd launched IC Wealth on the MoMo app, putting the IC Liquidity Fund directly into the hands of millions of Ghanaians.
From that room, and to everyone watching online, the message was simple. You no longer need a bank account, a branch visit, or a stack of documents to start investing. All you need is your MoMo.
Customers reach it by selecting Financial Services, then Investing, then IC Wealth. Because the account opening is built on existing mobile money information, there is minimal fresh paperwork to fill. You can invest, add more, track your holdings, and cash out, all from the app.
Isaac Boamah, CEO of IC Asset Managers (Ghana) Ltd, framed the partnership as meeting people where they already are.
“We believe the future of wealth management is not about asking people to change their behaviour. It is about meeting them where they already are,” he said. “Millions of Ghanaians already trust and use the MoMo App every day. By bringing IC Wealth onto that platform, we are taking another step towards making investing simple, relevant and rewarding for every Ghanaian.”
He pointed to the firm’s 25 years of managing money for businesses, corporates and pension funds in Ghana, and said this partnership extends that track record to everyday investors. His line landed clean: “You no longer have to choose between allowing your money to grow and having easy access to it. Through IC Wealth on MoMo, you can have both.”
Paapa Osei, Head of Legal and Reputation Management at MobileMoney Fintech Ltd, placed the launch in the longer arc of what MoMo has done for Ghanaians.
“For many years, Mobile Money has helped people send and receive money, buy airtime, pay school fees and support their businesses. The next step is to help people not only move their money, but also manage it for the future,” he said. He recalled the 2018 MTN Ghana IPO, when Ghanaians bought shares through their phones, as proof that this model works.
The regulator was in the room too. Anthony Degbato, Head of Investment Management at the Securities Exchange Commission, called the initiative a significant milestone for Ghana’s capital market. He reminded the audience that while the IC Liquidity Fund is designed as a low-risk product, all investing carries some risk, and urged investors to read the scheme particulars and understand the fees before committing.
That point matters. The IC Liquidity Fund is a licensed collective investment scheme regulated by the Securities Exchange Commission, with client assets held by Standard Chartered Bank as custodian. On this, Mr. Boamah was firm: “Regulation is what makes trust possible at this scale. We are fully licensed and fully compliant, and we encourage every Ghanaian to verify that any platform they invest through is licensed by the SEC before committing their funds.”
The room also saw the product demonstration on MoMo, and heard from clients who had already started using it, telling their own stories of how the journey began.
The details are built for the person who has been putting investing off:
Minimum investment of GH¢1. Redemptions processed instantly on MoMo. No entry or exit fees. A fund that invests in high-quality fixed income securities backed by the Government of Ghana and selected licensed banks, balancing safety, competitive returns, and access to your money when you need it.
Your money can grow and still be within reach. It does not have to sleep in your wallet anymore.
The launch was hosted and delivered by the IC Asset Managers team, led by Raphael Boye and Nubuke Gadzekpo Amoah on the mic. Our thanks to the MoMo team for the partnership with the SEC for their guidance, and to everyone who joined us in the room and online.
